Starting a Hearth of Humanity - House of Plenty in your community
Stages to help guide individuals, groups, and communities
A Hearth of Humanity - House of Plenty is a living center of warmth, dignity, and shared care.
It can begin anywhere—without permission, funding, or formal structure. What matters most is presence, goodwill, and relationship. When love governs the space, the right form will emerge.
A Hearth of Humanity is not something you build. It is something you tend.
Stage I
1. Begin with the Inner Hearth
Before taking outer action, pause.
- Read the Hearth of Humanity charter.
- Sit in quiet reflection or meditation.
- Ask inwardly:
“What form of warmth, nourishment, or belonging is most needed here?”
A Hearth grows best when it arises from listening rather than urgency.
Stage II
2. Start Small and Human
A Hearth does not begin as a program.
It begins as connection.
Simple first expressions may include:
- A shared meal
- A listening circle
- A weekly or monthly gathering
- A small act of service offered with dignity
Let trust and warmth come first. Structure can follow later.
Stage III
3. Recognize What Already Exists
Look around your community:
- Who is already serving?
- What resources, skills, and spaces are present?
- Where is goodwill already active?
A Hearth does not replace existing efforts, it weaves them together.
Stage IV
4. Name the Hearth Gently
When the time feels right, you may identify the gathering as:
“Hearth of Humanity – [Your Area]”
Share a short intention such as:
We are creating a welcoming space of nourishment, dignity, and shared care for our community.
Avoid claims of ownership, hierarchy, or exclusivity.
A Hearth belongs to everyone.
Stage V
5. Establish a Simple Rhythm
Sustainability comes from rhythm, not intensity.
Choose:
- A regular gathering time
- A consistent tone of welcome
- Periodic reflection:
Is the Hearth still warm, inclusive, and alive?
Stage VI
6. Stay Rooted in Love for Humanity
A Hearth thrives when it holds:
- Listening before acting
- Invitation rather than instruction
- Cooperation rather than control
- Respect for all paths of service
When love governs the space, the right form will emerge.
